    Vetal Tekdi Sunrise Trek

Start before 5:30 AM and take the south trail via Law College Road entrance — it's quieter, has better shade coverage, and the sunrise view from the top is absolutely spectacular. You'll often spot peacocks, bulbuls, and sometimes even monitor lizards early morning. Carry water and wear good shoes as the trail can be rocky. The chai from the small stall near the ARAI entrance is a local favorite post-trek.

The omelette pav is underrated and equally delicious. Cash only, and they close by 10 PM.

Visit early morning (6-8 AM) when it's nearly empty and the morning light filters through beautifully. The massive Nandi sculpture at the entrance is considered one of the finest in Maharashtra. Entry is free. There's a small garden with banyan trees perfect for meditation. Most tourists miss this entirely — don't be one of them!

Skip the crowded main Baner entrance — instead, take the Pashan side approach for a less crowded and more scenic trail. Time your trek to reach the top 30 minutes before sunset. The panoramic view of Pune skyline during golden hour is breathtaking. Local chai vendors set up near the top around 5 PM — the cutting chai overlooking the sunset is an unmissable experience. Perfect for photography enthusiasts.

Visit during the morning or evening aarti (prayer) for the most atmospheric experience. The courtyard is peaceful and perfect for sitting quietly. The temple is less crowded on weekdays. Local legend says the temple is over 500 years old — a true hidden gem of Baramati.

Visit at 6 AM to see the 'Queen's Necklace' fade into daylight. The promenade is full of joggers and has an infectious energy. Best chai is available from cycle vendors near the Oberoi hotel end. Monsoon waves hitting the tetrapods is a sight to behold, but be careful of the splash! Sit on the promenade wall and watch the city wake up.

Leopold Cafe — A Historic Landmark

A historic landmark founded in 1871. Try the roast chicken and cold coffee — they are legendary. Look for the bullet marks from the 2008 attacks preserved in the walls and glass as a memorial. It's always crowded, so be prepared to share a table. The shantaram book fans will recognize this place instantly. It captures the chaotic spirit of Colaba perfectly.

The Lalbagh road branch is the original legend. The Rava Idli was literally invented here during World War II when rice was in short supply. Order the Rava Idli and the Filter Coffee — it's non-negotiable. Be prepared to wait, but the system is efficient. The vintage silver thali meals served during lunch are massive, so go with an empty stomach.

    Nandi Hills Sunrise Above Clouds

You must leave Bangalore by 3:30 AM to reach the gates before sunrise. The 'clouds below your feet' phenomenon happens best in winter (Dec-Feb). It gets very cold, so bring a jacket. There are monkeys everywhere, so keep food hidden. On the way back, stop at one of the 'Devanahalli' roadside eateries for hot idlis.

Don't miss Natraj Dahi Bhalle (near the metro station) and the Jalebis at Old Famous Jalebi Wala. Keep your belongings safe and wear comfortable shoes. The precursor to the Taj Mahal. Sunset light hitting the red sandstone and white marble dome is a photographer's dream. The Charbagh garden layout is symmetrical and peaceful. Chapora Fort — Dil Chahta Hai Vibes

Famous for the 'Dil Chahta Hai' movie scene. It's a steep climb up, so wear sneakers, not flip-flops. The view of Vagator beach and the Chapora river meeting the sea is unparalleled, specially at sunset. There's no shade up there, so go post 5 PM. Grab a tender coconut water at the base after your trek down.

Book a sunset table weeks in advance — seriously. The view of the ocean is the best in Goa. The 'Plate Smashing' tradition and Sirtaki dance happen later in the evening, creating a vibrant party vibe. The Gyros and Souvlaki are authentic. It's on the pricier side but worth it for the ambiance and view.
